PROJECT CLOSING STATEMENT:

This report is aimed at those involved in ecosystem assessment. It provides the current state of knowledge and science with respect to broad scale (i.e. river catchment or coastal cell) understanding of ecosystems impacted by flood management activities. It will be of benefit to those practitioners in the EA, local authorities and their consultants seeking to include ecological risk into flood risk management policy studies.

SUMMARY OBJECTIVE:

To provide a user friendly package of guidance, data sources and broad scale ecosystem impact modelling techniques to practitioners undertaking CFMP and SMP/CHaMP studies within the flood management field. KEY

To help Defra in addressing the existing problems in the application of BSEIM and the steps required to furnish information at the correct scale and level of complexity for a variety of User Groups.
