Project closing statement
This project is to develop a methodology for assessing and mapping the risk of death or serious harm to people caused by flooding. Phase 1 is developing a framework for assessment.

Summary Objective:
Identify the main factors leading to risks to people from flooding and erosion accounting for both the hazard and vulnerability. To foward the understanding of the effects of velocity.

Key Customer Purpose:
Flood and coastal defence policy is conducted with the aim of reducing risks to people. This will provide the basis for assessing and managing risks to support decision-making where risks to life may be a relevant factor e.g. flood warning, development control, and target risk mitigation and avoidance measures.
